2024-12-052024-12-051810.34096/em.n18.16390Against “What Merely Is”: Autobiographical Archive and Literary Disposition in Recent Argentine Literature
http://revistascientificas.filo.uba.ar/index.php/matadero/article/view/16391

This article investigates the ways in which some autobiographical stories published in Argentina in recent years –Diario inconsciente by Santiago Loza, Parte de la felicidad by Dolores Gil, Tan temprano by Florencia Gattari and Efectos personales by Marina Mariasch– produce an intersection of autobiographical writing and literary reflection, often in response to a tension between the need to write and the resistance of the experience to being remembered or written. These texts especially highlight the relationship between a series of materials and their disposition (rather than, for example, the question of invention) and that therefore allow us to postulate that to example, the question of invention) and that therefore allow us to postulate that to think about the autobiographical genre it is necessary to think about the particular
characteristics of its archive.
Lara Segade

http://revistascientificas.filo.uba.ar/index.php/matadero/article/view/16392

The coup d’état perpetrated against Juan Domingo Perón in 1955 at the hands of the
self-proclaimed “Liberating Revolution” is the condition of exile that two Peronist writers and militants must face: Alicia Eguren and Aurora Venturini. If political violence
breaks out in 1955, in 1976 the last military dictatorship does not allow them to
return to Argentine. In Eguren’s case, her work ends abruptly with her kidnapping and
subsequent disappearance; Venturini, on the other hand, continued writing until an old
age that, belatedly, glorified her. But beyond deadlines and durations, there is a trait that
both works have in common, and that is the silence or reserve that surrounded them like
an impure and distrustful aura. Thus, the names of Eguren and Venturini rest on texts
that have barely been read or have been directly excluded from the systematizations
of the history of Argentine literature. Our reading hypothesis claims that if politics was
one of the reasons for marginalization, the form and motives of their writings contributed
to forging a silence that critics and academia chose not to confront. Catholic and
nationalist idealism in one, obscene monstrosity in the other: two poetics that escape
classifications and categories, both aesthetic, ideological and cultural.
Nancy Fernández

http://revistascientificas.filo.uba.ar/index.php/matadero/article/view/16393

The article covers the writing process of the second part of the book Fábulas Nativas
by Joaquín V. González composed of a varied genetic corpus that includes a
first version of publication of the texts in the magazine Caras y Caretas from 1912
to 1921, an autograph manuscript of 1923 kept in the UNLP Public Library and a
posthumous book version, from 1924. The main tendencies of literary elaboration
are analyzed, the relationship between the three scriptural instances and the tensions
that inhabit the rewritings, deletions, additions and line spacing in relation
with the edited versions
María Celina Ortale

http://revistascientificas.filo.uba.ar/index.php/matadero/article/view/16394

This essay traces the idea of the end, considered as a diagnosis and prognosis of literary
knowledge, from the texts of two Argentinean critics: Beatriz Sarlo’s ‘Escenas de
la vida posmoderna’ (1994) and Josefina Ludmer’s ‘Literaturas posautónomas’ (2006).
The topic of the end, conceived at the crossroads between literature, criticism and theory,

allows us to postulate questions about the validity of practices, roles, notions
and definitions of the literary. Through the productivity of funeral metaphors, the
dialogue between the proposals of Sarlo and Ludmer (but also those of Marcelo
Topuzian, Jorge Panesi, Luis Chitarroni, César Aira) aims to illuminate not only a
historical debate but also its potential eloquent remains for the cultural conditions
of the 21st century.
Cecilia Gabriela Domínguez
