The renewal of the history of the book: Roger Chartier's proposal
Abstract
Analysis of some changes we could identify in the book history present approaches. Reading and texts reception are underlined as strategies which exceed the limits of those centered in description and quantitative data. Roger Chartier’s work is considered in this turn as meaningful, and his news are used to articulate the different view-points of cultural history concerning printed materials. Finally, there is a short critical exercise about the dominant approaches of book historiography in Argentina.Downloads
