Informational Resilience and Political Subjectivation. A discussion on informational practices in digital political contexts
Abstract
Since the rise of the so-called information society, a paradox has emerged: digitally mediated information presents both democratizing potential and a fertile ground for the proliferation of extreme discourses that adapt and persist in digital environments. This phenomenon demonstrates the possibility of influencing both creative and destructive processes in the construction of emerging subjectivities. The aim of this paper is to establish theoretical connections between approaches to digital citizenship, as a form of political subjectivation, and informational resilience as a process capable of sustaining this subjectivation. It is argued that investigating the relationship between them is useful for understanding the social tensions observed in digital political contexts. The expansion of these approaches is suggested to have the potential to broaden the understanding of various emerging political subjectivities.
