Information Literacy Guiding Alternative for University Students from the Library
Abstract
: The present research describes the conceptual background and theoretical aspects of Information Literacy in the world, in Cuba and in the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI). A literature review is carried out in order to propose a guiding alternative on Information Literacy relying on the skills introduced by the Big6 model, according to the characteristics of the University. The current situation is analyzed and on the basis of this background, a diagnosis is carried out to determine the state of Information Literacy in first year from Faculty 2 at the UCI, aimed to develop their information skills and meet their information necessities. A guiding alternative for information literacy is proposed, and its effectiveness is verified from its application to a group of students at the UCI.Downloads
