Información, cultura y sociedad Management: Mixed Emotions
Abstract
From the experience gained since the early edition of the journal of Instituto de Investigaciones Bibliotecológicas, the authors outline a number of central elements in managing a periodical of this type. First refer to the importance of interpersonal relationships between the actors involved: authors, referees, members of the Editorial Staff and the Editorial Board of the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras (UBA). The authors focus on the skills displayed by the Editorial Staff: identify each communication process as a direct linkage liable to a dedicated personal attention; be flexible to take on new challenges to ensure continuity and meet the quality requirements of a journal; distribute tasks and trained the staff in the procedures necessary to shorten the time of publication; ensure the visibility of the journal by following the steps and routines established with the publication of each issue; integrated into national projects to improve the scientific publishing. The biggest challenge ahead is the migration of the editorial management to an automated system, and the assurance of pass on specific and complex tasks to those who must continue the editing of the journal in the future.Downloads
