Photographic Materials: their Organization and Processing
Abstract
The main aspects of photographic material in the library are analized through the compilation and study of the special literature concerned. Firstly, the bibliographic description, and the classification are examined. Then, in different OPACs by means of Internet, it is possible to see how the cataloging and retrieval of the above mentioned material is carried out. Criteria about its acquisition, preservation and storage are also provided. Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of photography as library material are remarked. To conclude, the different steps to follow in the document chain are supplied, which will lead to a process suitable enough to meet the users‘ needs.Downloads
