Abstract

In this article I aim at showing the cruciality of space in the emplotment of Euripides’ Alcestis. To this ends, it briefly introduces the concept of “mimesis concerning what is like us”. On this basis, I conclude that Alcestis portraits a material world relatively close to that of the audience, and also that space and corporality are essential to achieve cohesion in a plot which otherwise would be episodic.
