Abstract
Our research explores the complex construction of identities in a weekly creative expression workshop that takes place in a Centro de Acción Familiar (CAF, Center for Family Action) in the Bajo Flores neighborhood of the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where many people from the north of the country and from Bolivia reside in conditions of visible social margination. In this article, we bring to light our own process and how our continued presence affects our way of thinking about educational practices as workshop instructors as well as anthropology students in favor of intercultural education. Our analysis looks at drawings, written works and audiovisual recordings allowing us to consider the activity of the children to be a part of the active co-construction of their reality. We propose that through this creative process, discourses that give value to the children’s own experience gain new value.
