About advisors and «advisees» or on the tough art of being a good mentor
Abstract
In this paper the author thinks about the mentorship process of professional by the personal guidance of a mentor, through the transfer of their own expertise. After presenting the process in general, she works on the Spanish terminology which lacks adequate terms to describe both the people involved and the process. She speculates on the probable causes of this gap and describes the obstacles that may hinder the mentorship activity. Finally, it identifies the absence of institutions (universities and professional associations) of this type in Argentina and ventures a macro-explanation which account for this problem.Downloads
