LA PRODUCCIÓN AGRÍCOLA EN LOS MÁRGENES: PRÁCTICAS, SABERES E INNOVACIONES EN EL TERRITORIO NACIONAL DE LA PAMPA (1883-1940)
Abstract
This article seeks to analyze the agricultural production development in the National Territory of La Pampa, Argentina, between 1883 and 1940, emphazising the significance of specific forms of technical or empirical knowledge, carried out in the productive process. In this regard, we are particularly concerned with the relationship between agronomic engineers and farmers, so as to identify, on the one hand, the different engineers’s initiatives to spread agronomic knowledge among farmers; and, on the other hand, the active role of farmers, either in the dissemination of that knowledge, or in agricultural research in itself. In this way, we will not only challenge the postulates that portrayed the producer playing a mere passive role, but, at the same time, we will try to demonstrate that production and extension of agrarian know-how had a much more complex and fruitful background in La Pampa, that what could be thought beforehand.Downloads
