Categorización, nomenclatura e identificación de especies animales en el Egipto antiguo: el caso de la rapaz TnHr

Resumen
Recientemente, una interdisciplinariedad más completa y diversa está permitiendo comprender mejor cómo las poblaciones nilóticas de la antigüedad identificaban, nombraban y categorizaban las especies animales de su entorno. Un estudio de caso interesante es el del ave rapaz TnHr, término mal documentado, con sólo tres casos (el Ciclo de las Estaciones en el templo solar de Nyuserra y el complejo funerario de Unis y el relato del Campesino elocuente) y traducciones vagas y genéricas como un halcón sin precisar. Sólo lo han abordado en detalle E. Edel, que apenas ha indicado su pertenencia al género Falco, y R. Krauss, quien lo ha identificado con el halcón pizarroso (Falco concolor). Sus estudios, empero, dejan margen para estudiar el TnHr desde perspectivas más novedosas, combinando la evidencia textual e iconográfica, los datos topográficos y cronográficos del Ciclo de las Estaciones, el hábitat y las rutas de los falcónidos residentes y migratorios del Valle del Nilo y su ciclo reproductivo, etología, morfología y cromatismo. Ello permite plantear la hipótesis de que TnHr designara halcones del subgénero Hypotriorchis, especialmente el halcón pizarroso y halcón de Eleonora (Falco eleonorae), y así comprender su uso como metáfora del juez inclemente y despiadado en el relato del Campesino.Descargas
