Abstract

The aim of this article is to briefly present the development of a current research on the use of the gardelian myth in the writing and production of several plays in the 1970s and 1980s. Considering different drama poetics, such as political and historical intertextuality theater or neosainete, as well as the historical and political contexts from the geografical regions where these plays transit, we will investigate the loss of Latin American identity in the context of globalization where the production of these plays were inserted. By using a critical approach, we intend to explain the appearance of a theorically revisionist phenomena that has started in the 1970s in Argentina and Latin America.
