Resumen

La violencia aristocrática tenía como finalidad la deshonra de aquellos que la sufrían, lo que garantizaba las relaciones jerárquicas y de dependencia. La democracia ateniense puso en tensión tales prácticas ya que establecía la igualdad entre los ciudadanos. Nos abocaremos al análisis de la graphè hýbreos (ley de ultraje) puesto que constituía una ley que buscaba sancionar las acciones violentas y deshonrosas entre los ciudadanos. Sostendremos que la existencia de la ley demuestra la importancia de regular tales prácticas puesto que generaban una imagen devaluada y subordinada del pueblo, cuestionando los principios igualitarios del régimen democrático.
