Las reformas borbónicas vistas desde la frontera. La élite neovizcaína frente a la injerencia estatal en la segunda mitad del siglo XVII
Abstract
Eighteen Century witnessed the attemps of the Spanish crown to reinforce his power in his overseas territories. In order to obtain these objectives, were put in practice the so-called Borbonic reforms. This metropolitan initiative represented an increasing interference of the colonial state on the framework of personal and corporative local interests. Thus, many of the measures adopted were not pleasant to the Hispanic- American elites, which felt undermined their political power and threatened their acquired privileges and rights. This articule analizes the case of the province of Nueva Vizcaya, located in center-north Mexico, where the local powerful elites developed strategies related to the military situation and the struggle against the apaches, in order to maintain their privileges and reach new advantages from the crown.Downloads
