Abstract

Mar del Plata (Partido de General Pueyrredon) in recent decades had slow population growth rates in contrast to the towns of the district. These transformations promote others, one of them the intensification of daily mobility flows due to the territorial dispersion of the inhabitants and the centrality of services (higher education, privately managed institutions, health care especially the most complex, public administration, banking system, or others). The objective is to analyze the usual territorial mobility in the PGP from small and large villages, covering the possibilities, the conditions of realization and the movements themselves. Methodologically, secondary and primary data were used, analyzed with a geographic information system and qualitative techniques. The results show that Mar del Plata is the main destination of numerous habitual displacements thanks to the possibilities it offers as well as the mobility skills of the subjects, who, however, show differences between them due to individual characteristics, the home and the locality in which they reside.
