Fatores que influenciam no uso de motocicletas em viagens pendulares: uma análise comparativa por porte dos municípios brasileiros
Abstract
Due to lower acquisition costs and high mobility in the urban environment, the motorcycle stands out as an accessible option to the population. Despite its advantages, the growing increase in the motorcycle fleet has worried society due to the high number of accidents. The objectives of this paper are to identify in the literature the main factors that influence the decision of users to choose a motorcycle for commuting trips, make a digital survey with Brazilian motorcyclists and a comparative analysis of the data separated by the six classes of municipalities, according to population size. A total of 446 interviews were made with motorcycle users residing in municipalities in all regions of Brazil. The results show that the main factors of motorcycle use are due to saving time and providing freedom, while the negative factors are related to lack of traffic education and the occurrence of accidents with motorcyclists.
