Abstract
Road passenger transport in Brazil is a service delegated by the government to private companies that operate lines authorized by the State. From 2017 new agents started their activities with strategies that differ from those used by regular lines. These are corporations that offer charter services based on groups of passengers who seek the same route. Therefore, this article proposes the discussion of these new agents, that serve connections similar to those that are operated essentially by regular transportation companies. This is a new set of agents within an operational landscape regulated nationally by the Agência Nacional dos Transportes Terrestres (ANTT) and by state agencies in the federative units. An extensive bibliographic survey was carried out and also the reading of newspapers specialized in transport to support the collection of information about these new agents. There is the formation of a new operational logic, as these companies organize customers around a common connection and, based on demand, offer the service with the use of equipment from other companies. This logic has caused rearrangements on the part of the regular transport companies, which in certain cases have offered similar services with the use of its own operational structure.Downloads
