Abstract

In this paper I intend to explain how the political competition, in the town of Cardoso Moreira, influences the beliefs of the residents and how the rift between the civil servants manifests itself. Furthermore, I explore the relationship of high dependence between the rulers and the ruled, in particular when it is related to the granting of public employment. I have noted that the locals try to deceive, through discursive strategies, the submission applied by the political representatives. It is from these strategies that the locals seek a greater degree of freedom and equality and then negotiate their support and resources.
