Abstract

This article regards the anthropological contributions for the analysis on public policies. It takes into account the research on both, the process of police investigation as well as registration on homicides. In order to accomplish this aim, five police stations at the “Programa Delegacia Legal” were analyzed at the city of Rio de Janeiro . It was observed that the control mechanisms that the program offers had represented an advance in the quality of the information and had produced changes in the routines of the civil policy. Nevertheless, an impact in the effectiveness of the police was not verified as far as the elucidation of crimes.
