Abstract
In this article, we offer a historical survey to try to conceptualize what we describe under the notion of Amado Alonso’s attributes, understanding them as a way of analyzing his contributions, of interpreting the scope of his work at the Institute of Philology, and of representing a fundamental period in the development of linguistic ideas in Argentina, in particular, and in the Hispanic world, in general. To do this, we will present his role as a philologist – analyst, historian and epistemologist – in the disciplinary dimension, as a director – teacher and translator – in the institutional dimension and as a public figure in the social dimension.Downloads
