Los graneros: Un caso de almacenaje incaico en el Noroeste Argentino
Abstract
In this contribution we comment the characteristics of a storage installation corresponding to the period of Inca occupation in Northwest Argentina. The installation, located in Los Graneros revine, on the upper Calchaquí Valley, was surveyed in 1969 but the details of the work undertaken were never published, though several authors indicated its existence. Besides describing the structures which were documented at the time, an estimate of the storage volume the installation probably had is presented, and alternatives are suggested as to its function in the regional settlement system planned by the empire.Downloads
