Humor in social networks: some cases

Abstract

This essay briefly presents the notions of historical event and discursive event and argues that they are interlinked. Among the various aspects of humor, it emphasizes the description of the techniques that are mobilized in a small set of diverse “texts” that have recently circulated on social networks, even considering the hypothesis that potential readers are unaware of both the contexts and the double meanings, when they occur, considering, in this regard, an observation by Freud about the need to explain jokes that are far from the context in more detail.
