Abstract

Acting is a specific artistic phenomenon that requires a systematic theoretical inquiry based on its own conceptual parameters. One of the fundamental aspects to investigate is the same definition of the acting performance. The purpose of this work is to characterize the instance by which the subject positions himself as an actor under the gaze of a spectator. We believe that this instance is of the order of identity and we propose to name it Yo Actor (Actor Self).We will analyze the characteristics and functionality of that category as a guarantor of the performance of the subject in an acting situation.
