Abstract

The following article provides ahistorical overview from the beginning of the artistic expressions within the ritual until the Renaissance, rescuing the successive separation between dance and theatre. This is a problem for the performer who, since the disciplinary differentiation, is unable to work body and voice in an organic way. This text reveals the factors that allow us to recognize in a pre-modern performer an integration of both elements of expression, understanding the path that led to its dissolution.
