Abstract

The incorporation of the television in the play Los Albornoz (2001) by Los Macocos produces a fusion between media and the family gaze to unsettle and dismantle conventional notions of family in the face of crisis, millennium, and changing identity paradigms. This study examines how the presence of the television proposes alternative notions of collective identity and belonging, which oftentimes contrast with the theatrical horizons of expectations.
