OPEN ACCESS POLICY

ARQUEOLOGÍA adheres to the definitions proposed by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and upholds its commitment to the policies of Open Access to scientific information, considering that both scientific publications and publicly funded research should circulate on the Internet freely, freely and without restrictions. Thus, the journal does not charge any kind of fee to authors for the publication of articles and provides open access to its content, without time embargoes of any kind, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research helps a greater global exchange of knowledge. In line with this, the journal ARQUEOLOGÍA is distributed under Creative Commons License 4.0 International (CC-BY-NC-SA) and does not retain copyright, so authors may republish their work, as long as they mention the authorship of the work and the original source of publication in this journal.

1. COPYRIGHT NOTICE

Authors who publish in this journal accept the following conditions:

  • Authors retain the copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication, with the work registered under Creative Commons License 4.0 International (CC-BY-NC-SA), which allows third parties to use the published work as long as they mention the full authorship of the work and the original source of publication in the journal ARQUEOLOGÍA.
  • Authors may make other independent and additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the version of the article published in this journal (e.g. on personal websites, academic social networks, institutional repositories) as long as they clearly indicate that the work was first published in this journal.
  • Authors are allowed and encouraged to publish their work on the Internet (e.g. on their personal websites or in institutional repositories), both before (preprint) and after (postprint) publication in this journal, as long as they provide bibliographic information that accredits, if applicable, their publication in this journal. In this way, productive exchanges and a greater and faster dissemination of the published work can be favored (see The Effect of Open Access).

2. DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICY

ARQUEOLOGÍA is part of the Institutional Repository Filo:Digital of the Facultad de Filosofía of the Universidad de Buenos Aires, which digitally archives and guarantees the preservation of published information. The journal is also harvested by the National System of Digital Repositories of Argentina and by the institutional repository of the University of Buenos Aires RDI-UBA, among others. In addition, the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system is currently in the process of being enabled, which guarantees the journal a permanent and secure archive (November 2019).
