La idea de cruzada en el Liber de pasaggio de Ramón Llull

Resumen

Este trabajo busca elucidar la idea de Cruzada de Ramón Llull. En primer término, analizamos algunos datos históricos que pueden tomarse como los orígenes medievales de la Cruzada. Reunimos a la Cruzada con las prácticas arraigadas de la peregrinatio y el passagium y también mostramos la presencia de estas en el Liber de passagio de Llull (1291). En segundo término, subrayamos la importancia de la descripción de Llull sobre las tácticas militares específicas para luchar contra los paganos, una idea que es por primera vez desarrollada en su totalidad por Llull y que debe también entenderse en el contexto de la reciente caída de Acre. Es en esta encendida defensa al uso de la fuerza donde estriba la originalidad del Liber de passagio, y, a la vez, vemos aquí el comienzo de un nuevo período en el pensamiento de Llull. Este artículo también inscribe el Liber de passagio en el contexto de la política papal de esos entonces, lo que implicaba el uso de la Cruzada para los propósitos de esa política y, así, vinculamos al Liber con otros tratados previos y contemporáneos referidos a la figura de la Cruzada.
