Abstract

This paper analyzes the relationship between international law and sovereignty in Francisco de Vitoria’s writings Relectio de indis, De iure belli and Relectio de potestate civili. It examines the form of argumentation of the Relectiones theologicae and tries to determine whether Vitoria took into account different dimensions of history when writing these works.
